Learning

Although this image isn't related to any projects I may have completed, I felt that it should be included within my work as it was taken during my early stages of learning about photography, and at the time, was what I thought to be my most favourite photograph out of those I had taken so far.

The Borders between Night and Day

This is my Final Piece for a Mini project I did outside of college.

I concentrated on the Borders between night and day, and also incorporated the thought of typology, as these are all of the same sky and sun, yet they are all completely different, even when taken within seconds of each other.

End of Year Exhibition

These are photos taken of my work which was presented at the end of year exhibition.

Colours differ greatly from real life as these were taken on a mobile phone.

I chose to set my images out in a way that the colours of the flowers would all compliment each other and make the series of images look their best visually once they had all been put together.

Final Major Project

Here I have chose four of the 24 photographs from the series of images I produced as my Final Piece for my Final Major Project.

I decided to go by the theme of the Life Cycle of Plants and Flowers. To do so, I photographed a number of plants and flowers over a period of 14 days to record the changes in their appearance.

My Final Piece consisted of a series of 24 images, Six images of each of these flowers, all set out in the form of a time line to show the life cycles of the individual flower and how each is so different from the next.

I then exhibited my work within the end of year show.

Natural Forms

This image was also taken during the early stages of my Final Major Project.

It is one of my favourite images that I took during the project as I feel it represents the theme of Natural Forms, while also giving the atmosphere in which I hoped to achieve.

I feel that this image is very visually striking due to the bright colours and detail shown within such a dark, mood setting photograph.

Natural Forms

These two images were taken as part of my experimentation and thought process for my Final Major Project at college.

The theme I had chosen was 'Natural Forms', however I wasn't sure just where to direct myself, so I started looking into the life cycle of plants and flowers.

Both images are of the same flower, experimenting with how colour can effect the way the picture is viewed.

The Teddy Bears Picnic.

These image's were part of my Final Piece for a college project called 'Cautionary Tale's'.

I decided to work from a non-cautionary tale and add character's, also twisting the story line, to make the tale cautionary.

I worked with The Teddy Bear's Picnic. I took lines from the tale and played with the word's, such as 'Surprise' and 'Disguise' and added a Mystery Murderer to the picnic, to create a cautionary tale, where the bears are 'Surprised' by a man in 'Disguise' who is out to destroy their picnic, and them.

The image's were edited using Photoshop, and if printed, each six image's would fit as A3 size.

Teddy Bears Picnic Project.

These image's are also from my 'Cautionary Tales' project.

They were taken in a photographic studio, where I used a black backdrop to create a more mysterious and dark atmosphere.
I then edited these images using Photoshop, and positioned them in the layout of a grid, so that I could crop them in a way that highlights their main features.
This also helped me to decide upon the composition and layout for my Final Piece.
If printed, this image would be A3. However I would present these images as singular canvas prints, when put together measuring around A1.

Generations.

This is my Final Piece for a project, completed over the summer holiday.

I looked into Generations, and how the age of people affects them and the hobbies they partake in.
I chose to work with my own family as I could closely relate to them, and my memories and thought's about them.
I photographed them doing what I would imagine them doing when I think of them, however I left out my generation as I am still living in that generation and creating memories.
I chose to present the photos in black and white as I feel this represents the thought of memories best.

Typology.

I completed this piece of work as part of the development work for my 'Cautionary Tale's' project.
I decided to show the Typology of hand's, and these are three of the image's I chose to present in a grid.
I chose hand's, as they are used for numerous amount's of thing's such as drawing, eating, typing, and in the case of my Cautionary Tale, the murder of the Teddy Bears.
This also helped me to decide on how I could present my Final Piece.
I edited the image's in Photoshop, changing the levels and sharpening them.

Observational Drawing Project.

This drawing was inspired by my Observational Drawing of a watch.
I drew the watch, and then wondered what I could also use the watch for. That is when I came up with the 'Watch Dress'. The dress would be made from many lightweight watch links, and also feature a full working watch face in the middle of the dress.

I originally drew this picture in pencil, but then decided to add further detail to the drawing with a Black Biro pen. It was also drawn in an A3 sketchbook.

Observational Drawing Project.

This is another idea which I had from the drawing of my watch.
After drawing my first fashion illustration of a 'Watch Dress', I decided to look into how the design would work with other styles of dress and also other colours.
This was also originally drawn in pencil and details were added using Red Biro pen in an A3 sketchbook.
